Registration is now open for the inaugural Liberty Open, taking place Saturday, May 15th in Eldersburg, MD!

DETAILS

  • Registration will be capped at 12 teams;
  • Registration will be $100 per team;
  • Teams can have up to five players on their roster;
  • All players must be 18 years of age or older;
  • Teams are guaranteed three games.

You will be notified that your registration is complete when both steps have been completed.

RULES
  • The Old Line Wiffle Club gameplay rules will be used;
  • Clean balls will be used;
  • Five players hit
  • Four players field
  • Baserunning
  • Unlimited pitching speed
  • Bat Specs: max 38'' length, 2 3/4" diameter)
  • Games will be five-innings in length;
  • 10-run mercy rule in effect for all games;
  • Hard time limit of 45-minutes for games in Pool Play. No pitch may be thrown after the 45th minute;
  • In the event of a game being called on the account of time, the score will revert to the last completed inning unless the designated home team has tied the game or taken the lead in the last inning;
  • Games can end in a tie.
POOL PLAY RULES
  • Teams will be divided into three groups of four teams;
  • Teams will be placed into their groups by a random draw;
  • Teams will be all the other teams once in round-robin play;
  • Teams will earn three points for a win, and one point for a tie;
  • The three group winners and the 2nd place team with the highest number of points (the wild-card team) earned will enter the knockout round.
POOL PLAY TIEBREAKERS
  • Tiebreakers for pool play, either to determine the winner of a group or the wild-card team;
    1. Head-to-head play;
    2. Run differential;
    3. Runs allowed;
    4. Runs scored;
    5. Coin toss
KNOCKOUT ROUND
  • The three group winners and the 2nd place team with the highest number of points (the wild-card team) earned will enter the knockout round.
  • The teams will be seeded 1-4, with the team with the Group winners ranked on the basis of the number of points earned in Group Play;
  • In case of a tie, the Pool Play tiebreakers will be used;
  • The wild-card team will be the #4 seeded team;
  • The higher-seeded team will be the home team in all knockout round games;
  • Games will be five-innings in length;
  • 10-run mercy rule in effect for all games;
  • There will be no time limit for Knockout Round games;
  • There will be no baserunners added in extra innings.
  • In the event that a winner cannot be declared in the championship game due to weather, darkness, etc., the teams will split the 1st and 2nd place purse.
PRIZES*
  • Champion: $400
  • Runner-up: $100
  • Third Place Teams: $50 each (two teams)
